Vodafone tethering in The Netherlands

Well it seems that Vodafone NL have turned on tethering on the iPhone, at last! I have been waiting for this for a long time, I know I could have gotten a MiFi device but that would just mean carrying another device or transferring my SIM all the time, not very handy.

Tethering is the ability to use your phone (iPhone) as a WiFi Hotspot device so devices without a mobile data service can use the Internet through the phone. This is great for those moments that you need to do something important while on the go, or maybe even on a nice summers day ‘working’ in the park ;-)

[UPDATE]

The issue has been with the providers, not necessarily with the iPhone.

Android has been doing this since the beginning, granted, but the terms of use that came with the phones (any phone contract) specifically states that the data ‘minutes’ should NOT be used with any other device other than the one with the SIM inserted.

So this is actually Vodafone saying ‘you are allowed to do this’ again nothing to do with the devices.
